The American Bovine Foundation is a non-profit organization with the goals and purposes of supporting students interested in the bovine practitioner career field. We are offering an internship program to encompass a 4 weekend program. The program will consist of learning the opportunities available in the bovine practitioner field of practice. 3 weekends will be classroom, tours and hands on practice. Followed by ending with our Gala and Expo the first weekend in September.
To qualify for the internship students applying must be interested in the cattle industry. A one page essay will be submitted along with 3 references and resume of involvement in the cattle industry, 4-H, FFA and any breed associations. An interest in going in to the veterinary profession or other animal science career specializing in the cattle industry is preferred. Interns will be 16 years of age going in to their junior or senior year of high school education.Youth will get the opportunity to learn from practicing Bovine DVMs. Upon completion of the internship a letter of recommendation for colleges will be given to the interns. At the Gala interns will be recognized and presents with a $1,000 scholarship.
